Emmett Technique

What is Emmett Technique?

Emmett Technique or Emmett Therapy is designed to offer fast relief from pain and discomfort.  Beneficial effects are commonly noticed before the end of the first treatment.

The therapist uses a combination of gentle switches and light pressure to release specific muscle groups, enabling the client’s body to return to a balanced state.

The results can be almost instantaneous.  Before leaving the clinic most clients notice dramatic changes in flexibility, balance, pain levels, ranges of movement, breathing and other functions depending upon the areas worked.

The Emmett Technique is a highly effective, standalone therapy or can be sucessfully integrated with other modalities such as Massage,  Spinal Adjustments, Physiotherapy etc to enhance its performance.   For this reason, it is one of the most desirable and versatile treatments available.

History on Emmett Technique – Ross Emmett (The Man Behind The Technique)

The founder of the Emmet Technique is Ross Emmett from Australia. He started developing his technique when he was young while he was working with the Animal Research Institute in Tasmania. Later, he stared working in bodywork as a Massage and Remedial Therapist in Mt Isa and Townsville. This gave Ross more opportunity to further develop the Emmett Technique. Ross developed a very good reputation for getting fast, effective results with his clients. His busu Mount Isa practice treated on average, 100 people per week.

In 1983 Ross began teaching Massage Therapy and has since taught many other modalities including Bowen Therapy. Through the support of other practitioners, and in particular the encouragement of a Townsville Doctor, he started teaching his own technique, commonly known now as the EMMETT Technique. Ross has a unique and speical gift that allows him to see each client’s need at the point of treatment and tailored the treatment that is acceptable and effective for the client. This Chameleon approach has been the major success in Ross’s technique and produces outstanding results.
